Amo Statement on House Passage of War Powers Resolution Condemning Trump for Illegal War of Choice in Iran

Washington, DC – TODAY, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI-01) issued the following statement on the House passage of Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Gregory Meeks’ War Powers Resolution condemning Trump’s illegal war of choice with Iran:

“Congress just dealt a blow to Donald Trump’s disastrous, unnecessary, and illegal war of choice in Iran.

Finally, four Republicans joined Democrats to say no to wasting billions of dollars a day on this war that is driving up the cost of living, from the price of gas to groceries, with no endgame in sight.

This war must end now and we should focus on lowering costs, ending Trump’s chaos and corruption, and increasing opportunity for the American people.”
