Amo Takes Oath of Office for 119th Congress

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) was sworn in to his second term as the Representative of Rhode Island’s First Congressional District. The Oath of Office was administered by Speaker Mike Johnson during a ceremony on the House Floor.
“It has been an honor to serve the people of Rhode Island’s First Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, and I thank them for putting their trust in me for another two years,” said Congressman Gabe Amo. “In the months and years ahead, I look forward to building on the progress I made to support the working class, protect and expand Medicare and Social Security, uplift our Blue Economy, and strengthen climate resilience. Through it all, I will continue raising my voice to amplify Rhode Island values in the 119th Congress.”

The text of the House’s Oath of Office reads:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
