Foreign Affairs Vice Ranking Member Amo’s Statement on Trump’s Reckless Appointment of Bill Pulte as Director of National Intelligence 

Washington, DC – TODAY, House Foreign Affairs Vice Ranking Member Gabe Amo (D-RI-01) issued the following statement on Donald Trump’s appointment of Bill Pulte to the position of Director of National Intelligence: 

“Bill Pulte has no expertise in national security or intelligence operations.

His only qualification is loyalty to Donald Trump. As head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, he abused his power and tried to use mortgage data to go after Trump's critics.

Politicizing the work of the intelligence community weakens our national security.

Pulte's appointment is dangerous and makes Americans less safe.”
