WASHINGTON, DC – House Foreign Affairs Committee Vice Ranking Member Gabe Amo (D-RI) celebrated the House passage of the Foreign Service Modernization Act, which will strengthen America’s diplomatic corps and give Foreign Service Officers the tools they need to meet today’s national security challenges. Congressman Amo helped secure several key provisions in the legislation and spoke on the House floor in support of the bill. The measures Amo secured inclusion of strengthen training to combat antisemitism and support implementation of the Australia United Kingdom United States (AUKUS) security partnership.

Washington, DC – Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI-01) and Vice Ranking Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management, Congresswoman Laura Friedman (D-CA-30) introduced the Disaster Relief Fairness Act to prevent the president from maliciously denying disaster assistance to states and communities that meet the criteria to qualify.
