Amo Statement on Announcement from Rhode Island House Speaker Joseph Shekarchi

Providence, RI – TODAY, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI-01) issued the following statement after Rhode Island House Speaker Joseph Shekarchi announced he will be stepping down:

“Guided by fairness and integrity, Speaker Joe Shekarchi has dedicated his career to serving Rhode Island. 

His thoughtful leadership of our House of Representatives reflects a steadfast commitment to making government work for advocates of all stripes and an uncommon ability to bring people together to solve complex challenges.
