Amo Statement on Looming Republican Government Shutdown

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) released the following statement:

“I voted no on tonight’s irresponsible, last-minute bait and switch,” said Congressman Gabe Amo. “We could have avoided this entire mess by voting on the bipartisan deal reached earlier this week. Instead, we’re on the brink of a shutdown due to an out-of-town, out-of-touch billionaire pulling the strings of House Republicans and the incoming administration.

“I stand ready to responsibly keep our government open and help the working families of Rhode Island and our country. Anything less is unacceptable.”
