January 20, 2025
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) released the following statement:
“On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I’m reflecting on his legacy of service that fueled the Civil Rights Movement,” said Congressman Gabe Amo. “As our country participates in a transfer of power in Washington, I’m called to his plea: darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. In my work in Congress, I’m guided by not only the equality and justice that Dr. King fought for but also how we can reach the mountaintop together. I’m hopeful that his message and mission will guide our nation through the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
