Amo Statement on Trump Tariffs

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) released the following statement:

“President Trump is jacking up costs for Americans,” said Congressman Gabe Amo, Vice Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. “This Trump tax will hurt those building homes, raise energy costs, and hike prices on everyday staples at the supermarket. He and his billionaire friends may not have to worry about costs most Americans face when paying for groceries, filling their gas tank, or trying to afford a home — but working-class Rhode Islanders and Americans certainly do. With no plan to bring down costs for our country, Trump is starting a chaotic trade war at the expense of our workers and the whole economy.”
