Amo Statement on Trump v. United States

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) released the following statement on the ruling by the Supreme Court in Trump v. United States:

“With their decision in Trump v. United States, the current right-wing Supreme Court majority bulldozes the essential idea that presidents are bound by the same laws as every other American. Justice Sotomayor's words are particularly haunting — she writes in her dissent, ‘the President is now a king above the law.’ Today's ruling is a direct threat to our foundational democratic values and the rule of law.”
