Amo Supports Military Families and National Defense
WASHINGTON, DC –Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) released the following statement after voting to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024:
“I am proud today to have voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024,” said Congressman Gabe Amo. "After months of political gamesmanship on the part of extreme House Republicans, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bipartisan NDAA which raises pay for our service members, expands assistance to the lowest-paid military families to cover the cost of food, housing, and other essential needs, and strengthens the partnerships that the United States has with our allies around the world.
“This year’s NDAA also helps the United States accelerate our fight against climate change by investing over $650 million in energy resilience and conservation projects. While extreme Republicans were trying to make it more difficult for service members to access abortion services and vitally important healthcare, House Democrats worked in a bipartisan way to deliver for the American people and provide for our nation’s defense.”
