Amo Visits Solid State Power to Highlight Ocean State Manufacturing on Blue Economy Tour

Solid State Power designs, assembles, and ships high-performance solid-state battery systems for defense, commercial, and recreational marine applications.
Pawtucket, RI – TODAY, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI) continued his Blue Economy tour with a stop at Solid State Power’s manufacturing facility in Pawtucket to highlight the importance of new battery technology to maritime innovation.
“Rhode Island manufacturers, like Solid State Power, are developing cutting-edge battery technology, creating good-paying jobs, and propelling our state’s Blue Economy into the future,” said Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI). “It was an honor to meet with Solid State’s team and tour their newly expanded facility in Pawtucket. Whether making our marinas cleaner or powering submersibles exploring the deepest wells of our oceans, their team of engineers and technicians are making discovery possible and maritime battery power a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. I will keep supporting their innovative work in Congress and fighting for federal policies so Rhode Islanders can keep building the technology fueling our Blue Economy.”
“Advanced energy systems are quickly becoming critical infrastructure for our Navy, our commercial fleets, and the autonomous platforms reshaping maritime operations. Rhode Island has the engineering talent and ocean heritage to lead in this space, and Solid State Power is proud to be building that capability in Pawtucket,” said Tom Calef, President and CEO of Solid State Power. “We appreciate Congressman Amo's leadership in making sure companies like ours have the support to grow and hire here at home.”
