Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), Senator Ed Markey (D-MA), and Senator Angus King (I-ME) introduced this legislation in the U.S. Senate today.

Over the course of more than 40 years in the Rhode Island state legislature, Senate President Ruggerio fiercely advocated for the people and places that make Rhode Island unique. On April 21, 2025, he passed away after a long battle with cancer.
