WASHINGTON, DC – In an effort to protect the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) from the Trump Administration’s proposal to cut and eliminate federal agencies, U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressmen Seth Magaziner and Gabe Amo sent a letter to Secretary Kristi Noem urging her to not take any action toreduce the size and scope of the agency. CISA played a critical role in supporting Rhode Island through the RIBridges cyberattack last December.

This subcommittee has jurisdiction over research at the Environmental Protection Agency, environmental standards, and climate change research and development, as well as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which administers the National Weather Service.

PROVIDENCE, RI – Today, Congressman Gabe Amo (RI-01) visited Children’s Friend, a Head Start provider and non-profit organization in Providence affected by this week’s federal funding freeze. On Monday, Children’s Friend attempted to withdraw federal funding to make payroll on Thursday. Due to the chaos and confusion caused by the blanket freeze on federal funding, Children’s Friend staff were locked out of the funding portal and were unable to draw on funds from their account.
